We stayed here in room 304, a lovely smaller hotel in a very quiet location. The staff are very friendly and helpful, providing us with dental kits when asked and helping us to work the television immediately after asking for help. The room was very big with a lovely view out of the 3rd floor windows. The room was clean with the usual tea making facilities and bathroom toiletries you would expect. The room was well heated and heavy, thick curtains that closed well for a decent sleep. The bed was a super king size and was a little more firmer for my personal taste but a comfy night nevertheless. The breakfast was continental and plenty of it although we wasn't given the option for a full English breakfast other guests were but we had already eaten, so be sure to ask if you would like to add on a full English breakfast. Although the lift was out of use during our stay, the concierge was on hand to take luggage up to your rooms. The 3 flights of stairs were ok for myself and my husband but may pose a challenge for some guests, especially as the final flight of stairs are steep, spiralling, and with no hand rail. Overall a pleasant stay, and I would definitely return, especially as its location is about a 20-minute walk from Euston and about a 15-minute walk from the Aldwych Theatre.

Would of love to have given 5* but unfortunately the room we had was very large and clean and comfortable, unfortunately it was in the basement next to the staff entrance. We got woken up very early with the staff talking so load to each other for ages. There was also painting outside our room. When you're on holiday, you just look forward to having a restful morning, which with 2 nights stay we didn't get. The location was lovely, and the reception staff was very helpful with the help of our TV not working properly. If we return, then we would defenelty ask for a higher floor room.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, but a filthy room that was well overdue refurbishment. Absolutely not a four star hotel in our experience, perhaps there are better rooms, but I've stayed in three-star hotels far nicer and cleaner than this one. My wife and I just stayed in room 104 for one night to go see a show. For the money you are purely paying for the great location. The bed in the room was clean, if a little hard; we didn't sleep well unfortunately. The staff were nothing but friendly to us. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't speak for that service. HOWEVER, the room we stayed in was absolutely filthy and in dire need of deep cleaning and frankly, refurbishing. The bathroom was grimy and dirty, with soap scum and limescale everywhere and dirt buildup under the shower screen and around all the fixtures. What was particularly bad was that there was 'residue' build up around the spout of the sink tap where previous guests had washed their mouth out after brushing their teeth. The toilet itself was clean, atleast, although it had the weakest flush I've ever seen. Oh and there was blood on the wall by the bed. The room otherwise was in a sorry state, carpet was heavily stained, the ceiling had water marks all over it, the net curtains ripped and all of the light fixtures were tarnished and stained. The TV worked fine, the kettle looked clean (although after everything we didn't trust it). It was no doubt lovely 20 years ago, but the room is in desparate need of a refresh.
