We recently stayed at the Granville Island Hotel with our two young children and had a fantastic experience. The location is truly what sets this hotel apart—tucked right on the waterfront, with easy walking access to the Granville Island Public Market, artisan shops, galleries, and parks. It made exploring with kids simple and fun, with something interesting around every corner. Our room was clean and quiet for our family. Rooms are small like in Europe but we had a little balcony and lovely view of the marina. The beds were comfortable, and the setting felt peaceful and relaxing, even though we were right in the heart of a bustling, creative neighborhood. While we didn’t get a chance to dine at the hotel’s restaurant, Dockside, it looked beautiful—especially the patio overlooking the water. Luckily, the Granville Island Public Market was just a short walk away, offering plenty of options for casual family meals, snacks, and treats for the kids. Overall, the Granville Island Hotel was a perfect base for a family trip to Vancouver—comfortable, welcoming, and in an unbeatable location. We’d definitely stay here again.
We had our wedding block at the Granville Island hotel and the hotel and staff were great! Kim accommodated our large group so well and was always available for any questions we had! Our guests loved the location, being able to go to the market and walk along the waterfront! Parking wasn’t a problem either, I think sometimes it’s hard after dinner time to park overnight but we were able to come and go easily during the day!
The staff at check in were an absolute delight. They were willing to make some accommodations for me and were quick and very friendly. The rooms are a bit small, but perfect for everything we needed. The deck was a lovely to sit on in the am. The location was quiet. The bathrooms were clean and the pressure with the shower head was amazing. The hot tub was more like a warm pool, but they had just cleaned it, so it possibly didnt have time to heat up. The restaurant puts up false advertisements about happy hour that no longer exists. We did ask about it from the waitress, but she said their manager wanted them to continue to put it up. We didnt try the food after we found out they had no happy hour and felt lied to. We decided to venture over to a different restaurant. Overall other than the restaurant, it was a great stay in a beautiful location.
