Grapple Hotel & Spa

Wonderful place, with wonderful staff - thank you Margarida and Débora for making our stay an experience for life! The room was very clean, large, with a great view towards the pool. The dinner and breakfasts were fantastic. Definitely a must return!

I am reviewing this hotel as someone who has mobility issues. First the good - staff are amazing, food was great, ramps into restaurant and room and bathroom are big enough to move around using a walker or wheelchair. Now the bad - door to get into reception is just barely big enough to get a manual wheelchair through the door. There is no elevator to the restaurant, you need to go outside, down quite a steep hill around the front, up a long ramp to get to the restaurant. Mentioned the bathroom was a good size and it is……but the toilet is super low and very little space to maneuver into the shower. There was no seat to use, didn’t use the shower so didn’t ask.

The spa was awful, I missed the part where giggling and whispering while getting a massage became a part of the process. The masseuses must’ve not known I understand Portuguese . When I said to the front desk I wasn’t paying for the massage I was expecting at least to explain why. No they just said “okay” making me believe this is a common occurrence. Absolutely love going to a spa and leaving feeling worse. Extremely unprofessional definitely wouldn’t recommend.
