Great Polonia Krakow Old Town

The team at Great Polonia were able to accommodate us at 1am after our existing booking failed to show up to let us in. As we had a child with us, we were extremely grateful. The price was excellent and the service was exceptional. They also allowed us to store our bags while we explored the next day and even stay an hour in the common area before we needed to head off. Highly recommended!

Great location, friendly staff, and: suffocatingly-hot hotel. The hotel appears to have no air circulation system, so even on cool days, heat accumulates on the upper floors. Room AC doesn’t work. The windows open, but the traffic and all-night parties make for a noisy night. Wifi doesn’t reach the second floor. Wanted to love this hotel, but can’t recommend it, unfortunately.

My experience at this hotel was disappointing. The receptionist named Alice, who wears glasses, was unfriendly and treated us with coldness—as if we were staying at the hotel at her personal expense. Her behavior felt discriminatory, and I couldn’t help but sense a clear attitude of prejudice. The room itself was extremely suffocating, with no sunlight coming in at all. The mattress was old, worn out, and very uncomfortable. We stayed for four nights, and not once were the trash bins emptied or the garbage bags replaced. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its location in the heart of the Old Town. However, this alone is not a good enough reason to book a stay here—there are many other hotels in the same area that offer much better service. My advice: Do not consider booking this hotel. You deserve better.
