My wife and I eloped to Gretna Hall Hotel and we had a fantastic time. They made our day extra special. From the moment we arrived the staff went the extra mile. We splashed out on the platinum wedding package and it was money well spent. The ceremony was made to feel personal rather than a conveyer belt, the food was amazing and the suite was top class. I would highly recommend Gretna Hall even if it’s just to stay over.
We stayed at Gretna Green Hall for our wedding on the 1st July 25. I honestly cannot praise this place enough. We purchased a wedding package which included a 2 night stay. The hotel organised everything down to a fine art. Our room was beautiful. Cleaniness, facilities and view was exceptional. Restaurant, the food was amazing. Our experience was one we will always remember, made better by the absolutely fantastic staff. All of which we came into contact with were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. We can't thank you all enough for making our time at Gretna Green Hall so special ❤️
Honestly, for a hotel whose main focus is weddings and creating this luxury wedding experience it really isn't that. As a hotel (rooms only), it's probably a 4*, the rooms are lovely. Lots of space and have a lovely modern style to them; beds are comfy which is always positive. However, it goes down hill from here as the restaurant element really isnt good at all. The breakfast is very basic, not eye catching at all but had some options. Hot breakfast looked ok, cereals available with toast and 'fresh' fruit. We then had an evening meal and wow, it's was bad! Everything we had was bland and seemed very microwaved. I doubt anything is cooked fresh to be honest. We did make a comment that the chips were black, bruised not burnt but they came back and said the chef said this is how they come as they're local! Absolutely not, you wouldn't eat bruised and black potatos at home let alone paying for it 🤦🏼 we also had a wedding reception in the room next to the restaurant which was blasting out music so loud! Rave music started at around 7 and just continued. Even with the dors closed it was so loud and really made our site down meal less enjoyable. If you are looking for a special wedding day where you're center of attention, this is not the place to be. With a wedding happening around you every half hour or so, there are wedding parties in every direction.
