Greyfriars Motel

Great central location. Spacious rooms. Good layout of units. However, the sofa and dining chairs were very uncomfortable as they had wrought-iron backs on the dining chairs and on the arms of the sofa. A bit pricey.

The location is great Rooms are small but well maintained. New bathroom in our twin unit. Great shower. Not so good for self catering but close to all amenities like supermarkets, takeaways and restaurants.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting friends in Greytown. We had been travelling all over the North Island staying at Motels. This was the most expensive place we stayed but not the best. The room had a stand alone room cooler not air conditioning, which required water top ups regularly and freezer packs which also needing replacement. It was noisy too . The shower cubicle was very small . Anyone above a medium size would struggle . After the first night we requested extra tea bags and milk , only to be directed to the nearby supermarket or Dairy for the milk . This is the first and only time in our extensive travel around Australia and NZ that this has happened. Finally, the net curtains by the entrance door was dirty on our arrival and remained so throughout our stay.
