The chef Andrés is Fabulous! It doesn’t matter if he’s making nachos or the finest dish. It’s Delicious My massage at the spa was incredible with Tamara.. Helena was so kind and sweet at the desk. She kept everything tidy and running smooth. Check-in was nice and swift! My room was even ready when I arrived early. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. The bellman was sweet to help with my luggage without me even having to ask. I was very impressed. I will have to say, the only thing that I find negative is there’s only two electrical outlets in my room. It is adequate for charging my devices. I just have to put them on each side of the room. I do like that they give complementary water and toiletries.

Let me start with the pros: Welcoming staff and good service to the rooms. The list of the cons go very far (and its not like I’m used to staying at the Ritz Carlton) but let me start by saying this, it is not a “4-star hotel” , it’s in a bad area of Barcelona, it smells like sewage everywhere (including the rooms), the road and surrounding area was under heavy construction, and I would say to the “average” person this would not feel like this is a safe or enjoyable place to stay. My experience in Barcelona was much different the first time. If you are a traveler or unfamiliar with this area I would recommend a different hotel. Awful Experience Never Again! Our experience at Grums Hotel & Spa was honestly terrible. The moment we stepped into the reception, we noticed mold near the air conditioning units and water dripping from the ceiling right onto our heads. When we brought it up to the staff, they just said it was because of the spa. That explanation made no sense at all. Then things got worse we actually saw a cockroach, and the staff claimed it was due to construction on the road outside. Really? The lack of hygiene throughout the hotel was unacceptable. In a hotel, cleanliness should always be the number one priority, and here it was completely ignored. We felt so uncomfortable and disappointed that we left and found another hotel immediately. We will never return to this hotel and we strongly recommend avoiding it. It was a total disaster from start to finish.
