Guangzhou Victoria Hotel

Visited this hotel in Oct 2024. The room was decent and the hotel is in close proximity to local attractions. Front desk staff were pleasant and attentive. Soon after checking out, we realised some mistakenly clothes were left in the closet. We called the hotel back and they said they could assist to send the items to our location. However, we never heard back from them and couldn't reach them by email or call. Contacted Expedia as the original booking was done through them however there was no response. Posting this review in hopes that it will reach the hotel, in order to arrange the retrieval of our items. Would greatly appreciate feedback.

Amazing hotel with great amenities for a good price. However, DO NOT HAVE THE HOTEL BREAKFAST IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO NUTS. Notified staff I was anaphylactic to waiters and chefs in Cantonese and Mandarin every morning. Was reassured that nothing contained peanut oil and was told which dishes did not have nuts. Ended up having an anaphylactic reaction to the meal from my photo. Family rushed me to hospital, no help from staff or apologies/reimbursement after the fact. No admission of guilt or change in practice either. Nothing. Probably par for the course in Guangzhou, so be careful and heavily advocate for yourself.

During my communication with Ms. Chen from the Reservations Department, I had a very unpleasant experience. Her attitude was extremely rude, and she even spoke inappropriately, which left me both shocked and disappointed. I believe your establishment values customer service, so I sincerely hope this matter will be investigated and that appropriate action will be taken regarding this staff member.
