Absolutely beautiful and enchanting hotel! Outstandingly friendly and attentive staff! Pristine clean hotel rooms, cozy beds, soft sheets, plenty of towels, tasty snacks on arrival in your room with plenty of bottled water that is replaced daily. I truly cannot say more positive things about this hotel and staff. Plenty of guides to take you to the sacred Hindu Aarti ceremonies at sunrise and sunset. Nightly entertainment by talented musicians. The hotel itself is truly enchanting! Beautiful stone courtyards and walkways. Lovely temple. And the food and restaurant staff are the absolutely best I have experienced during my 3.5 week journey throughout India. Make sure you come to Varanasi and stay at this mystical, enchanting hotel. You will be so glad you did!

Amazing location and beautiful old building however the staff were rude. Especially the manager. We wanted to go to the rooftop and enjoy a cold drink however after half an hour when the rooftop opened the manager took us inside and advised it would be a 1500 rupee a head charge for both of us so the bill would be 3000 plus whatever we ate or drink. I couldn’t believe it. We refused to go up and returned to our seats out the front. The manager then came over and told us we wouldn’t need to pay the per head charge then we became confused. He told us he felt bad for us waiting. I noticed 2 other guys did the same thing they went in and up then came back downstairs. This obviously isn’t a popular rule. No locals and very little foreigners. The manager then rudely asked if we wanted to pay by cash or card and effectively kicked us out. Didn’t really care to be honest.
