Gumruk Otel Urla

An incredible experience in a truly world class hotel. It is right in the heart of Iskele with beautiful views of the marina, the Quarantine Island and the seafood restaurants. Yet believe me when I say that this exquisite location is at the bottom of the list of amazing things about this hotel. The hotel is located in a recently renovated customs house, which is a prominent and beautiful example of the old Greek architectural style of the region. Each room is uniquely designed and indisputably beautiful (we peaked into a few as they were being cleaned during the day). We stayed at room #1 and had the most unbelievable views of the sea-the type that tends to spoil you. The booking comes with breakfast at the Rast Restaurant which is in the same compound as the hotel. Each person is treated to a breakfast plate and a coffee drink of choice (and unlimited tea). The food at Rast was beyond delicious. There is also an Asian Fusion restaurant called Ioki on the other side of the compound, which is also good albeit slightly expensive. There is also a nice boutique store in the lobby, which came in handy for us as we needed to buy gifts on our last day and were feeling lazy. Overall what an experience this was. I feel spoiled in the best possible way.

A peaceful boutique hotel, restored in a historic customs building. The rooms are modern and meticulously decorated. Gümrük Hotel is an elegant getaway that preserves the spirit of the past while bringing it into the present.
