I have been here for a couple of days for business. The food here is on point, especially at the lounge on the 3 rd floor. The staff is great and very professional, they take pride in providing customer service! This lounge is one of the best Marriott has. Now the bar, three ladies I spent each night with; Shebiki, Odetta, and Alicia. I thank them very much they took care of me and are very patient. So I have to give a shout out to these beautiful ladies. This Marriott is great, I wish I was able to get everyone's name. Each staff member I came across were professional and were on their A game! I recommended this hotel because of the amenities, staff, and food. I will make this my new home every time I come back for work.
This is a beautiful property with really well manicured grounds. The room is nice, but not too big, and the walls are very thin. We could clearly hear people next door having normal conversations. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the mini fridge is a nice plus to have. The front desk staff was very friendly, especially Anthony who was very professional and accommodating. The breakfast had to be the highlight of our stay, as it had so many options to choose from, including cooked to order eggs. Staff was also very attentive. This is a basic Marriott hotel, and the only large American chain with the Ramada down the street. We enjoyed our one night here, but at over $700/night, this is definitely not worth that much. I understand that there isn't much competition down here, but this is more than the Marriott in Times Square!
I recently took a trip to Guyana and had the opportunity to visit the Marriott, a place I've enjoyed in the past when prices were around $150-$200 per night. However, I have to say, the current prices are absolutely outrageous! During this latest visit, we encountered a few challenges. First, we waited a staggering 45 minutes for our drinks, and it felt like an eternity just to get our appetizers. Can you imagine shelling out over $4,000 for just three shrimp? It was disappointing, to say the least. As for the food, it did not live up to our expectations. Unfortunately, the service from the staff was lackluster as well, falling short of what I had remembered from previous visits. Overall, I feel the Marriott has lost some of its charm and reputation. What a letdown!
