Gîte Le Caribou Le Clos de Landrais

Our family stay at Clos De Landrais in gîte Hermione was perfect. The house is beautiful decorated down to every small detail and fully stocked for all holiday needs. Olivier, our host, gave us a warm welcome and was always contactable during the 7 day stay should we have needed him. The small village location, 10 minutes outside Surgeres and 30 minutes from La Rochelle is idyllic and quiet, the house being surrounded by farmland. Within the grounds of the house, there are plenty of shady corners of the garden to explore and most importantly for us, a generous pool for cooling off in the hot afternoons. None of our party of six (aged 8 to 81) wanted to leave and we hope to return to Hermione one day soon for another stay in this special rental. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous time at Le Clos Landrais. the communication with Olivier before arrival was excellent and the welcome was extremely warm. Nothing was too much trouble! The property is truly beautiful and has been renovated with love. We stayed in Le Caribou which is separate to the main house and is beautifully furnished with everything that you could hope for during your stay. The house opens up into a beautiful enclosed garden, which our two dogs absolutely loved....they also got to make friends with Olivier's beautiful dogs....Hoopy and Marley :) There is also a wonderful pool which we made use of and the breakfasts are to die for, all local produce and absolutely delicious! We would not hesitate to recommend extremely highly. We had a fabulous time and loved it, if we are ever heading to the area again we will be sure to stay again. Thank you Olivier, Hoopy & Marley for being so lovely and kind and for looking after us all!

Our experience at the Clos de Landrais was beyond our expectations. We stayed in the Bubble for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. Everything is well thought out to make your stay as comfortable as possible while also living "the experience". We enjoyed having total privacy to make the most of the outdoor area. The hosts are super thoughtful with a sharp eye for details, we felt taken care of with respect to our intimacy. We were also provided with interesting visits and restaurant recommendations. A special mention on the breakfast that was one of the best I had eaten in ages, all homemade or locally sourced and very generous portions. It was all worth the price and I can only recommend you to book a stay there.
