H Hotel & SPA Engelberg

Our stay at the H+ Hotel was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we stepped into the spacious room, we felt a sense of comfort and relaxation. The private balcony was a highlight—it opened up to a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding mountains, making sunrise and sunset moments truly unforgettable. 🥐 Breakfast: One of the standout experiences was the breakfast. It was easily among the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. Fresh ingredients, variety, and quality all came together in a way that made mornings something to look forward to. 🏊‍♀️ Leisure Time: The swimming pool offered a pleasant escape for our kid. Even thou, it was not that negative, the lack of a small table fan can make things feel a tad warm at times—something that could be easily improved for added comfort

Great location, decent bit dated rooms. The staff is humble but the rooms were firstly not filled with basic toiletries, didnt have a kettle : had to ask for each item. Was told to come down and collect from reception. Breakfast can be skipped if looking for veg options.

We stayed at the H+ Hotel Engelberg during this summer, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. Despite the unusually high temperatures this season, the hotel rooms have no air-conditioning. What’s more disappointing is the lack of any proactive measures by hotel management—such as providing fans—to ensure guest comfort in the heat. This shows a clear lack of planning and concern for the well-being of guests. The room size was decent, but that’s where the positives end. The mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, making restful sleep nearly impossible. Moreover, basic in-room amenities that are considered standard even in budget hotels were shockingly missing—there was no iron, ironing board, hot water kettle, or any complimentary tea/coffee setup in the room. Instead, there was a single hot water tank located near the reception area, which was poorly maintained, unhygienic, and unattended, raising concerns about cleanliness and guest safety. Adding to the disappointment was the unprofessional and discourteous attitude of the staff. There was a visible lack of hospitality and absolutely no willingness to assist or go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome or cared for. Every request felt like a burden to them, and there was zero warmth or enthusiasm, which made the overall atmosphere quite uninviting and uncomfortable. In a place like Engelberg, known for its beauty and tourism, one expects at least a minimum standard of hospitality and comfort. Sadly, this hotel failed to meet even the most basic expectations. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable, or professionally managed stay. There are certainly better options in the area that respect and value their guests.
