We had a lovely experience during our recent visit. The service was really attentive staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Specially form front office. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, adding to the relaxing vibe of the place. The view from the lake is breathtaking, with a peaceful and scenic backdrop that makes it perfect for unwinding. The entire atmosphere of the resort is very quiet and calm, ideal for a relaxing getaway. The food was delicious… Overall, a great experience and definitely a place we’d love to return!!

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and excellent service. Especially Kalpani served us every day with a beautiful smile. There are activities for everybody like bike rides, a small playground and a spa. A walk around the serene and peaceful lake is a must. I would come here with my family every time I wan to unwind.

Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet our expectations, especially considering the reputation associated with the Cinnamon brand. We stayed for two nights and had made our reservation three months in advance, with payment completed at the time of booking. Despite this, we faced an extremely inconvenient late check-in, delayed by almost 1.5 hours. This was quite frustrating, especially after a long journey, and was not a pleasant first impression. We had booked four rooms (320, 325, 326, and 329). In Room 325, we attempted to order food as my daughter was hungry. Despite trying for nearly an hour, we couldn’t reach room service. Even after using the direct line, we were transferred multiple times and eventually disconnected each time. This lack of responsiveness was disappointing and distressing. Furthermore, the hot water issue in our room was another inconvenience. The water pressure was very poor, making it nearly impossible to have a proper shower. Though we reported this, unfortunately, the issue remained unresolved throughout our stay. Breakfast was decent in terms of taste; however, a disturbing incident occurred where my father-in-law found a worm in the jam. He immediately informed a server, who swiftly cleared the table. Regrettably, we were unable to take a photo as evidence. This incident was quite alarming and unacceptable under any standard, especially at a hotel under the Cinnamon name. We also had a very unpleasant experience with the swimming pool facilities. Though other guests were using the pool, we were concerned about the water quality. Our concerns were valid — the water was murky, and the pool had visible sand and stones. It was evidently not well maintained. Even the baby pool was in worse condition. It was so uninviting that our children chose to leave the pool shortly after entering. The next day, we took a walk over to Cinnamon Lodge, and the difference in upkeep and cleanliness was striking. It was everything we expected a Cinnamon property to be. As regular patrons of Cinnamon establishments — including our frequent visits to the Cinnamon Grand coffee shop — this experience at Habarana Village left us deeply disappointed. It simply did not align with the standards we associate with the Cinnamon brand, and we hope this feedback is taken seriously. We trust that you will look into these issues and take the necessary steps to ensure future guests do not face similar experiences.
