Great Location and breakfast. We stayed for one night and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is minimalistic- so if that’s not your vibe then look for another one. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was amazing. It needs a little updating in the rooms. There was only one mirror in ours and made it challenging to get ready.
Location-wise, it’s an excellent option, well-situated on the busiest street in Polanco. However, the hotel is outdated and lacks service. It urgently needs a renovation if they want to maintain those high prices. Amenities-wise, it has a pool, a rooftop deck, a small gym, a barber shop, and a basic restaurant that primarily serves a simple breakfast. While it’s an option for its location, you can get much better value for your money nearby.
We recently stayed at Habita Hotel for 3 nights and 4 days, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet the expectations of a “4-star” property. The Highlights: Excellent location – truly the best part of the stay. Comfortable mattress Well-equipped gym that is clean, modern, and exceeded expectations. Dry sauna and hot tub– appeared functional and maintained, though we didn’t use it. Where It Falls Short: While some features were enjoyable, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The rooms feel outdated and poorly maintained. Though the cleaning staff kept things generally tidy, there were several issues: uneven carpeting, chipped bathroom paint, and a rough-looking drywall patch where it appeared a section had been cut and never properly repaired. The in-room audio system was mostly nonfunctional and only worked in the bathroom. The most frustrating part was the lack of hot water! Throughout our stay, the water never got more than lukewarm, and even that took a long time to achieve. The bed had a strangely small comforter… more like a twin-size blanket turned sideways on a king-size bed. It didn’t even cover our feet, which made for a less comfortable sleep overall. The minibar looked impressive at first glance, but everything came with a charge. For a hotel claiming a high-end experience, charging for every small item felt cheap and out of place. Many upscale hotels include these as complimentary touches. The pool area was quiet and relaxing but lacked upkeep. Greenish and slippery tiles, likely due to algae, made parts of the area feel slimy. It also is not very lively, which is great for relaxing, but not if you’re looking to have a cocktail and socialize. Despite that, the poolside bartender was friendly and provided great service. Finally, construction work on the first floor during our last day filled the building with a strong chemical smell. We had to open our balcony door to air out the room, but it remained unpleasant enough that we couldn’t comfortably stay inside for long. While Habita Hotel offers a prime location and a few redeeming features, the overall quality and service don’t justify its 4-star rating or its inclusion in the Capital One Lifestyle and Premier Collection. We’ll be staying elsewhere on our next visit to CDMX.
