Hacienda San Jose

Very peaceful and relaxing retreat. This place is quaint and authentic. The people are genuinely kind and welcoming. My kids loved all the birds and animals we spotted there. The spa experience was very nice. The bath gels and shampoo they offer are so calming. The location is nice for day trips but away from main cities. We did have a terrible experience where Google maps took us the back way when returning from Rios Lagartos. Do not take the entrance from Motul. This back road is not maintained and not meant for cars especially at night. Luckily, the staff helped us out and got us in from back entrance. Special shout out to Felipe who went over and beyond to help us out!!!

The service here was outstanding. My family felt genuine kindness from all the staff here. The grounds are so so beautiful and the breakfast was delicious (definitely worth getting the room + breakfast package). The grounds were well maintained and my kids loved seeing all the beautiful birds and iguanas. We stayed here two nights but my husband and I agreed that three would have been better (esp since we were gone 10am-8pm on our full day here). Not the best place for anyone with mobility limitations as there is a lot of gravel and uneven ground. Also- we did find some small scorpions in our room. One evening and the next morning. It’s in a jungle area so not surprising at all & not a big of a deal if you don’t mind catching & releasing them but im sure they’d send someone out if requested.

Perfect family gathering at the Hacienda San Jose Cholul. These old hacienda has been turned into a beautiful hôtel in the middle of an exhuberant vegetation site, close to Merida and Izamal. These old hacienda rooms are amazing, the pool is a dream for kids and adults alike. The personnel is very kind and efficient. We enjoyed a tour of the prémisses with Felipe, who was VERY thourough and knowlesgeable about the nature and the history of the place.
