Very nice hotel, well appointed, with typical Japanese sized rooms for the night. Two types of breakfast, Japanese or standard. Dinner is on site, along with a coffee place. Parking for a fee is available. Top floor is a communal bath. If you have tattoos, they need to be covered for the bath or you'll be asked to leave.
A luxurious and well-appointed hotel in the heart of Hakodate. The rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully furnished, offering a restful stay. The onsen facilities were beautifully designed with a serene ambience, complete with complimentary popsicles and a lovely view from the top floor. Breakfast at Matsumae Restaurant on Level 2 was delightful – a well-balanced and nicely presented set meal that started the day on a high note. Highly recommended for a relaxing and elegant stay.
The hotel itself is pretty good, but the public bath? A total letdown. It was so crowded I felt like a sardine in a steam room. They claim it’s a natural onsen, but with that strong chlorine smell, I started wondering if I had accidentally stepped into a swimming pool. On the bright side, breakfast was great—at least they got that part right!
