This is a really nice place to stay. Plenty of amenities, high quality service, and great allergen friendly food. The staff made every effort to accommodate us. Rae at the front was particularly kind and helpful. Valet is $65 and the parking garage nearby is free on Sunday. They also had a little 55cc scooter dubbed the hulk that we borrowed to go to a show, and a luxury car that will take you up to 3 miles.
The hotel is in a great location, the marketing and design team did a great job creating a nice vibe with lots of nice and unique touches. Staff was friendly and professional. Room service was a little off, fairly weak breakfast menu, didn't bring any water with meal or salt and pepper, and must order from expensive brunch menu on weekends. Main issue with rooms was the mattresses are very soft and you sink into each other. Checked with the night manager on our first night and asked if all the rooms had the extra soft mattresses and he said yes, pretty much. Pillows are very large, so double whammy of putting your neck in a bind if you are side sleeper which was surprising based on room cost + valet costs.
Let me be clear — this has been one of the most frustrating and poorly handled check-ins I’ve experienced in over 30 years of travel. I booked and fully paid for my room back in January, and now I’m being hit with a classic bait-and-switch. I was told I’m being “upgraded” — really? Because the room I paid for had an outside terrace, which was the entire point. The so-called “suite” you’re offering doesn’t even have one. That’s not an upgrade — it’s a downgrade disguised as a favor. When I asked for an explanation, I got nothing but vague excuses and zero accountability. To make matters worse, I’ve been stuck in the lobby for well over an hour. Now I’m being told the room isn’t ready because you’re short on cleaning staff? That’s your problem, not mine — but I’m the one being inconvenienced. I’ve never heard so much nonsense and runaround. Absolutely unacceptable service from start to finish. Now 4pm every person has been checked in…. And now it’s my fault I picked that room?? Seriously??? And not one manager to be found???
