Halong Palace Hotel

Lovely hotel.we went in the quiet season so not many people there. The gentleman behind the reception was very professional and helped us book a cruise on the bay by offering his opinion which turned out to be a fantastic trip and one of the best that I have been on. The rooms were very spacious and had all your needs. Plenty for breakfast. The only snag is that it was a good half an hour to the centre but as we are fit it was no problem to us. Taxis ordered at reception were very cheap. We took an open top bus to look around and that helped us. We also loved the Plaza and the indoor market was great to look around and buy a few souvenirs. Fantastic holiday. Thank you very much.

Very good shower and bathroom. Room spacious. Restaurant had good service and good quality dinner. Breakfast was diverse and good quality, only the coffee was okay-ish only. The location is close to a marketplace where you can buy vegetables, fish and meat. The restaurant situation was not so great. It is a short drive off the Halung Bay warf where the roots leave from.

We stayed at this hotel in November 2023 for 1 night as part of a packaged tour. Hotel Front Staff - Friendly Rooms - Spacious room and good view from the room. The tea/coffee machine is pretty small so you are basically brewing one cup at a time. Also they do not provide Black tea bags and milk/creamer so had to order from front desk. Bathroom was good size but tub was high that you had to be careful when getting into and out of the tub (surprising that most tubs in Vietnam hotels were pretty high). Also when we had a shower , water did go onto floor so had to put towels on the floor after shower Breakfast - breakfast and service staff was ok - service could be better and more friendlier. They did have a decent choice for vegetarians Location - good location and good views from the rooms
