Hamlet Downs Country Accommodation

This was one of the most charming accommodations I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I would often find myself standing on the porch, staring out into the vast distance, admiring the rolling hills of green glinting gold in the sunlight. This farm is so full of history and thanks to Steve and Trish, it is filled with more heart and warmth than you could possibly imagine. All the animals that you’ll meet on Steve’s fun little farm tour are lovely but none can compare to Reggie! She is the most dog-like sheep you will ever meet. You will not be able to resist her charm. (If you’re lucky, Steve will take you around on his 4x4 and you’ll feel like you’re in Jurassic Park for a moment. The theme song was playing in my head the whole time.) Don’t even get me STARTED on Trish’s inimitable culinary excellence. Her cooking brought tears to my eyes and sent my tastebuds on wild adventures through galaxies I had forgotten even existed. She is an absolute 5 star chef. The King Suite was beautiful, clean, comfortable and charming in every possible way. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen but I’d recommend you not bother because cooking a meal with Trish next door is like bringing an inflatable pool to the beach. This will definitely not be my last time staying at this farm and I hope to be back sooner than I think. Thank you, Trish and Steve, for an amazing time!

Perfect location for a little family getaway. We stayed the weekend and had a walk @ Mt Field which is a short drive away. Our accommodation was clean, cosy and fully equipped so it was easy preparing meals for our little one. The Burmese feast is a must try. The hosts are amazing and welcoming and funny too! The bonus farm tour with Reggie 🐑 made our day!

We had a great time here and felt complete peace and tranquility in a magical setting. Steve and Trish offer generous hospitality and great food (served to your room). Steve even invited us to tag along with him at feeding time and was open to lots of questions. Along with the fab food, the gorgeous farm and well maintained country garden, complete with friendly chickens and lots of sitting areas really made the whole stay wonderful. The accommodation itself would benefit from an update and was a little dusty.
