I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel last week, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the staff, who made me feel right at home. The room I stayed in was not only impeccably clean but also incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail in the room's design and amenities was truly good. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which featured a variety of fresh and flavorful choices. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was as pleasant as possible, offering helpful recommendations for local attractions and always with a friendly smile. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable.
Hotel Hall: When you step out of the elevator for the first time into the hall leading into your room, there is no air on, and there is a very heavy musky smell. Room: The room I had was slated for handicap access in the bathroom. There is no transition from the bathroom floor to the shower floor, and when taking a shower, all the water disperses from underneath the shower curtain onto the bathroom floor. This leaves you with a wet floor to walk out on and also track water out into the room. There was no exhaust fan working, and everything would steam up when taking a hot shower. In order to alleviate steaming up the bathroom intensely, we would leave the sliding bathroom door open, but that also allows water to be splattered all over the outside floor when showering. I also noticed that if this is meant for a handicapped person to be able to shower with ease, there is no towel rack nowhere near the shower. The shower user would have to walk across the wet floor to get a towel from the rack hanging either over the toilet or at the end of the sink. Leaves for a dangerous slip and fall situation. There was damage to the room wood floor that left exposed. Would four people potentially hurt themselves if they had no shoes on. My girlfriend's daughter did happen to hurt her foot on the exposed or damaged wood floor. Food: On the first night, we ate in the restaurant and what I ordered : steak, chicken, and chicken nuggets. The food was only warm when we bit into it. We did inform the waiter that the food was cold and they did take it back to the kitchen. When they brought it out, it was still the same temperature. The breakfast is buffet style and was not the greatest. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
One would expect a higher standard from a hotel in the Hilton family. The property itself is quite basic, with rooms offering nothing beyond a bed and a bathroom—lacking even essential amenities such as soap or shampoo. The staff's demeanor ranged from passive-aggressive to outright rude, which further diminished the experience. Additionally, when the elevator stopped working, the hotel's response was completely inadequate. As a guest, it is unreasonable to be left without a proper solution, especially in a city like Barranquilla, where power reliability can be an issue. A well-managed hotel should have contingency plans for such situations. Overall, my experience was disappointing, and I would recommend considering alternative accommodations that offer better service and guest care.
