My grandkids age 5 n 8 stayed here over the weekend. They loved the pool, went 3 different times. The room was nice. Clean, beds were comfy, pillows nice. The bathroom was nice n room enough for the 3 of us to move around in at same time. The breakfast was good. And of course the grandkids loved that too. Cereal, make your own waffles, what kid wouldn't like it! We're definitely be back! We also walked to dinner at Olive Garden and went shopping at the mall. Only thing, I never heard of charging guests to park at the hotel.
I booked a king bed on the app. At check-in, I was told that I may have booked a king bed, but they had been busy and did not have any left. I got to my room, and there were no curtains, only the see-through shade, and the room had an odd odor. I went back down and was told they were sold out and had no other rooms, and there was not anyone there that could hang anything or do anything about it until 11 when someone else would be in. So there was nothing she could do. This is truly disappointing. I typically stay at Hilton Hotels and have never had any issues at all. But this one wasn't just one issue.... I have never booked ahead and gotten to the hotel only for them to tell me the room I booked was not available. Definitely will not stay at this location again. There is a nice Holiday Inn Express around the corner that I will be staying at next time I come for work. I went on the app to book and see what it said. They showed king rooms available. I will be asking about that and also contacting the corporate office.
I had a horrible experience at the Hampton Inn in Buford, GA this past weekend July 4th - July 6th. I was attending a wedding on the 5th and blow dried my hair to style it. I am an African American woman and I do use products in my hair so I do not get heat damage from blow drier. The bathroom room didn’t have ventilation so the room did become very smokey. On Sunday July 7th I happened to check my account and noticed -$500 pending from my account. I called the hotel and was told by Dana, that I was charged because the vaping detector went off due to smoke. I tried to explain to her I do not smoke or vape, never have in my life and that it could’ve been due to my blow drier and the products I used, she cut me off while I was explaining and told me a blow drier wouldn’t do that. She told me there was nothing she can do and the charges stands as is and to speak with a manager but every time I call the manager is not in and she does not give the managers name I can contact. There is honestly no reason for me to lie about any of this, they can review camera footage and see that I had my hair blown out Saturday morning and later that evening when I left for the wedding my hair was done. I have called customer service line to file a complaint twice, they are stating they understand my concern however the hotel is withholding my funds. I put my card on file for $100 incidental fee, I never signed any paperwork allowing them to take any additional funds out of my account. I do feel as if I was racially profiled and was not given the chance to explain what occurred. I was not given knowledge of the charge at Checkout and I asked the young woman before leaving if everything was good, nothing was stated. I am very upset by this experience, a great weekend with friends turned bad because of the Hampton Inns Atlanta - Mall of Georgia team.
