Hampton Inn & Suites McAllen

Room was nice and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious better than some breakfast I’ve had at actual restaurants. A smart tv would make the stay perfect.

My first stay was awesome, but this last visit wasn't as the first. Looked like the bed sheet was too small for it and every once and a while during sleeping I felt like a bite here and there. That didn't happen the first visit I had. But I will give them another try in the near future.

The rooms were recently remodeled. However, they skipped out on things that would have made it more appealing. The heating and cooling system is one of those under window monstrosities. In room 315, it is currently being held up by a piece of wood. Also, it’s extremely noisy when running, I don’t get it because there’s a register on the wall. In addition, there was a strange smell in our room, almost like a dirty smell. The bathroom doors are still original from before the remodel. It’s is old, rusted, and stained. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom are peeling and look dated already. Somebody’s jacket from a previous guest is still hanging in the closet. Our body wash was completely empty. Good thing there was more than one of us to go grab another bottle. Overall, there were many missed opportunities to make the room even more comfortable and appealing. The ac unit definitely makes the room seem cheap and gives Motel 6 vibes.
