Wow…. This was such an unexpected find. From the moment you walk in the door it has such a beautiful and homely feel. The beds were so comfy and the kitchen and outdoor area was perfect for my family and I to catch up. Will definitely be returning with my girlfriends and other family members for weekends away. From the beautiful outlook over the water, walkways along the waterfront and a short stroll to a great cafe with sensational service and food only minutes away. Have already started planning our next stay. 😊
This place deserves a 10! The owner, Debbie is a pleasure to deal with and has made a beautiful space for people to relax. The house is beautiful. There is nothing that Debbie could do to improve the house. There is nothing lacking in the house. Thank you for a beautiful stay in your home. We loved it!
LITERAL NIGHTMARE If I could give zero stars, I would do that. To address the reply from the property owner: 1) I have included screenshots of the original message where the host cancelled my Friday booking but was offering to have us stay Sat/Sun (not suitable for me as I needed the property on Fri night and Sat morning). This clearly shows (a) she told me she was cancelling the Friday to use the house for her own family and (b) she had no issues with the payment method change and is now using this as an excuse for her appalling behaviour. 2) The payment terms were that payment was due 30 days before the booking so it would have been paid in full well before the booking date - she had no risk at all. 3) The booking was made in March 2021 on a credit card that we subsequently cancelled, so I updated the payment details to the active card. This is very common when booking so far out and was explained to the host. Be very careful booking this property in advance if your payment method may change - she will call you a scammer and cancel your booking. 4) Booking.com told me they believe the behaviour of the host was poor, but advised that unfortunately their policy could not force hosts to provide accommodation if they did not want to and therefore were required to cancel the booking per the host request. My experience: I booked in March 2021 for May 2022, as we chose the house for me and my bridesmaids to get ready for my wedding due to it's close location to the wedding venue. Today I received a message from the owner saying they were cancelling my reservation because she has decided to reserve the property for her family on the night we had booked the house. 55 days before my wedding, I'm stuck trying to find suitable accommodation for 4 people within the vicinity of my out-in-the-sticks wedding venue. This is despite me booking 1 year ago, having a phone conversation only a month ago confirming the reservation and advising that the booking is for my wedding which makes it extremely important to me. I should note, the phone call was because she was pressuring me to have a late check in because a new booking (made 11 months after mine) wanted a late check out the morning of that day. I was told repeatedly that I would be the reason that booking cancelled, as if I was in the wrong for wanting to check in at the agreed time.. She didn't offer any cost reduction, late checkout or other compensation despite knowing I'd booked for my wedding and it would be a massive inconvenience to me. On top of this, after advising she was cancelling the booking, Debbie proceeded to charge my credit card for the full cost of the booking (isn't it fraud to take payment for a service you aren't willing to provide?). Luckily the payment wasn't processed by my bank, otherwise I would have been out my wedding accommodation as well as $540 while I waited for booking.com to process the refund. Honestly, don't bother with this place, especially if it is for an important event. They have no problem cancelling you at short notice, no empathy shown at all and super rude when I asked her to reconsider and allow my to keep my booking. There is another review with the same issue, so they clearly have a history of this. Find somewhere reliable and save yourself the stress. PS: at least 4 of the 5 star reviews on here (Debbie Yeates & Greg Yeates) are literally from the owner (see the sign off in my second photo to match the name). Not sure how many of the positive reviews are real since they are leaving fake reviews on their own property but clearly these owners have no morals and are extremely dishonest people!
