Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club

First time staying here. Quality absolutely excellent. Dinner menu so clear about allergens. Pool area lovely, at 7.00 a.m. was still quite busy but pool delightful to swim in. Early morning sunbathing on loungers outside a great bonus.. free access to teas and coffees too.

We stayed here for one night last week. Overall it was a nice stay, the hotel was quiet.(midweek) The staff are very accommodating, Grace on front desk/reception was very helpful and friendly. The grounds surrounding the hotel are beautiful.

The gym is very nice and the property itself is very pretty on the outside. That is where the good ends. Upon arrival I checked into my ‘deluxe’ room to find that the mattress was made decades ago — I kid you not. See the attached picture. I asked the front desk if they had any other rooms available but was told that is the standard mattress for all deluxe rooms. The Marriott app described the mattress as ‘pillow top with a feather bed.’ Finally, the desk called me back to let me know that another room with a newer mattress was available! That was great news. I was welcomed to the new room with a large pile of used tissues on the floor and cobwebs all over the windows. It’s also important to note that the rooms have no air conditioning, just a small desktop fan. My room got to about 90f during the day.
