A hidden gem in this stunning little town! Traveling through for the day we decided to stop in for a family lunch . Well let me tell you , this is some of the best food we have ever had. Pictures attached for reference to show you how fantastic it was! Staff extremely welcoming and service was outstanding. Having arrived to Anstruther late afternoon we decided to make a night of it. They had a family room available and we are glad we took it. Decor lovely and the bed and mattress extremely comfy. I'm not one for dipping into a mini bar however the prices are more than fair which made it ideal for us as we couldnt make it down to the bar late at night once the kids fell asleep. Location is a hop, skip and a jump to the beautiful harbour front making it a lovely spot for sightseeing the sea life and a spot of fishing off of the pier. Thanks Harbour Inn for the hospitality, we will most definitely be back x

When arriving we hadn't received message for code to get into the room which caused hassle, room was advertised as having a landmark view...the room looked onto a back street! Our room door was hanging off the top hinge! Fridge was turned off in the room, advertised as having large double bed...bed was standard double bed. Overall it isn't the worst place I've stayed in but also very far from a good place I've stayed in!

We were going to Anstruther to meet friends and decided at the last minute to book accommodation and enjoy some extra time in the area. Unfortunately there was not much choice. We booked and paid for The Harbour Inn. To access our room we had to squeeze through the people in the bar, through the empty dining room into a dark and dingy stairway. Upstairs was the tiniest hall leading off which were 4 doors. We were shown into our room, an "upgrade" as the room we had booked had issues with the shower. I would hate to have seen the original room! We had a 4 poster bed, well a metal frame actually, a very bizarre throne like chair. Fake leather wall paper on a couple of walls, hideous gold furniture and about 12 inches between the bed and the walls, making it extremely difficult to move around the room. A small fridge which had peeled stickers on it. Tea/Coffee was provided but wouldn't have used the kettle. Cheap silver thin metal blinds which were broken and rotten window frames. The towels smelt stale and the bedding was old, cheap and worn. Then the bathroom was even worse, the smell was unbelievable, toilet roll holder was rope which on close inspection was not clean and obviously unhygienic! Back to the hotel to sleep and the bed was so uncomfortable and even the slightest movement caused the most awful creaking noise and the whole bed moving with you. We got up and showered, packed and left before 9am. Back home and all clothes were put in the washing machine and we both had a good shower to try and feel clean again. DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL ITS A NIGHTMARE!
