My daughter got married in Halifax on 10:26:24 and we stayed at the Harbourtown suites in a penthouse suite for a long weekend. The bridal party got ready in the suite and it was perfect, beautiful and spacious with great views of the harbor. The location was perfect for us as we had a rehearsal luncheon at Eastbay Grill across the Street and a informal welcome party onsite on Friday night at the rooftop bar which was perfect for our guests that stayed at Hotel 1620 because they could walk to the bar since it is next to Harbourtown Suites. I loved everything about this place, location, cleanliness and the decor. Jon was so accommodating and responded to my texts within minutes. Staying here made the wedding weekend extra special and I can’t wait to stay here again.
The condo was huge and absolutely perfectly decorated and clean. We loved it. It was fully stocked for making a big dinner and cocktails. The beds were quite comfortable and 3 nice bathrooms, one with a gorgeous tub. There was no view. It was located in a perfect spot. It was hard to figure out which entrance and which elevator and no receptionist. That was difficult for this senior.
Upon our 2:00am arrival the key code didn’t work and we were locked out. There wasn’t anyone available to help. As a result we had to spend that first night at a hotel down the street. Harbourtown offered to reimburse us for the hotel (great) but credited someone else’s credit card. No problem- I understand mistakes happen. Whoever owns or manages this place must be new to running a company because the lack of professionalism and business knowledge was obvious in his inability to understand the credit mistake he made. His snarky, defensive attitude and reservations he had about simply writing me a reimbursement check made that clear. We still have not been reimbursed. The condo is not luxurious by any stretch and the building reeks of Dollar store cleaning solution. We had to hold our breath and use the stairs to get in and out as fast as possible to avoid respiratory problems and migraines!. I recommend that you find another place to stay - we were treated very well at the Holiday Inn. Their free breakfast was impressive and we had housekeeping. All the things that you won’t get at Harbourtown’s so-called “luxury “ condo.
