The hotel is in the city center and has a historic feel that really shows the culture of the place. What made my stay special was the amazing staff. They were kind and professional, and their attitude made me enjoy my stay even though there was a problem with the air conditioning in the whole building. I really appreciated the help from the two ladies at the front desk and the man with the long beard—unfortunately, I didn’t get their names. The room was nice and comfortable, and I liked almost everything about the hotel. The only downside was the noise at night from a nearby street full of bars. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would love to stay here again. One small suggestion: I hope the hotel can be a little more flexible with check-in times.

The location is amazing! A stone throw from the main high street, liverpool one & the bars. The hotel was clean & our room was spacious, clean & warm. Breakfast was amazing & the bed was comfy. The staff were lovely & friendly. The only downside to the rooms is that they are not soundproof, you can hear people in the hallway when they're returning to the rooms after a few nightcaps. So if youre a light sleeper this may not be the best place for you. Especially at a weekend.

First impression, it was tired and empty. Check in was busy so we went for a drink in the side bar as it was the only one open at the time which was 3.30 afternoon. Bar was nice but let down by very dirty windows . Check in was easy and we got to our room (112). At first impressions it was very nice over looking North John Street but unfortunately the windows were very dirty and grimey inside and out so couldn't see much outside. On reflection the room was tired and only one sachet of sugar for two people. Went down for evening meal at 18.00 which was very nice well presented, lovely staff and the meal was very nice. On finishing our meals we then tried to get into the side bar but unfortunately it was full so we got our drinks and sat in the empty lounge by reception. Then on ordering another drink I was told they had run out of Beefeater Gin which I would have thought that a themed hotel would have been well stocked. Eventually we decided to retire to our room due to a early start in the morning, Unfortunately we couldn't sleep because of the constant drumming coming from a club over the road Beat to One, which went on well onto the morning so did not have a good night sleep. Went down for breakfast another let down, plates were cool, Full English was only tepid at best and the black pudding was not cooked fully practically raw, all in all a bad experience overall which is sad because we were really looking forward to it but left feeling very disappointed. Would not be returning to this hotel again. 😞Sue and Kenny Crossland
