Harz Hotel Iris

A wonderful little family-run place in a quiet area of the Harz. We loved the bbq evening on Friday, the breakfasts and the modern and comfy rooms. The owners are friendly and welcoming and the views from the balcony are lovely. You will need a car to get to shops or other restaurants (there's one 150m away which was fine, but if you're looking for more variety). We'll be coming back to this little haven

Wonderful hotel. Great staff. We had a tight schedule and we're helped to an earlier breakfast. The owners/managers are extremely helpful. Not to mention the area is a marvel in itself. Highly recommended.

Clean hotel, spotless and very clean room. Huge parking that could accommodate our trailer. Perfect location if one wants to hike in the nearby nature reserve. We had to air the room a little while as it smelled a bit enclosed. It was not a stench or anything, just the same smell one gets after opening a wardrobe that has been closed for a long time. Nothing a few minutes of fresh air can't fix. I particularly loved the fact that the hotel feels very environmentally conscious. Small notes and reminders here and there show that a care is given to the environment. The breakfast was very simple. Some of the bread should be laid out on a plate instead of plastic bags for easier access so other guests don't have to put their whole hand in there. All in all a really good hotel that ticked my number one must have: VERY clean rooms.
