Honestly, this hotel wasn’t even on our shortlist — the online reviews were so worrying it became our last option after all other hotels were full. We arrived with low expectations… and were surprised in many ways
Negative Aspects: • Discrimination: One of the most upsetting parts of the stay was the behavior of some of the restaurant staff. As a Tunisian guest (living in Germany), I noticed clear differences in how Tunisian guests were treated compared to foreign tourists. Certain waiters were significantly more friendly, smiling, and polite with German or French guests, but acted distant and cold with Tunisians. This kind of discriminatory behavior is completely unacceptable and should be addressed seriously by hotel management. • Unprofessional Atmosphere During Meals: During breakfast and dinner, staff were often talking loudly among themselves, sometimes about internal hotel matters, and gathering in groups near the service areas — all right in front of guests. This was especially disruptive during breakfast, which is a sensitive time when many guests just want to enjoy a calm and peaceful start to the day. The lack of professionalism and awareness in creating a relaxing environment was disappointing. • Invasive Service: While dining, we also noticed that staff members constantly stared at guests’ tables, which felt intrusive and uncomfortable. A more discreet and respectful approach would be more appropriate. • Cleanliness Issues: The room had a noticeable ant Problem that should be treated immediately. We also saw several cockroaches in and around the hotel, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed standard. • Strict & Inflexible Food Policy: On my husband’s birthday, I wanted to take a small plate of fruit and cake to our room to celebrate privately, but was told it’s against hotel policy. Even after explaining the reason, the staff were cold and impolite. Although they eventually said, “It’s okay this time,” the way we were spoken to made us feel disrespected. We paid for a full-service experience, and taking a small plate of food to the room should not be treated like a crime. • Room Entry Without Consent: While we were at dinner, hotel staff entered our room to leave a small birthday gift. Although the gesture was appreciated, entering a guest’s room without permission or prior notice is not acceptable. Positive Aspects: • When I informed the hotel that it was my husband’s birthday, they kindly prepared a birthday cake, which was a thoughtful gesture — even though we weren’t allowed to enjoy it in the room. • On our departure day, we had to leave very early in the morning. The hotel prepared a small breakfast box for us, which, while simple, was still appreciated.
