Stayed here for a few nights away, the hotel is idyllic and beautiful a gorgeous setting. Electric chargers a huge bonus ! Spa is fabulous so relaxing and peaceful really enjoyed all the features ...the only one area I didn't quite get was the tepidarium, it just felt like a slightly warmer room ? The rooms themselves very nice and comfortable, fantastic they are dog friendly as well. No air-conditioning was the only downside but its rarely needed in the UK, so can understand it not being installed. We loved seeing the resident cat at breakfast and the food was really nice We will definitely be back when next in the area. Already looking forward to using the spa again !!
Additional charges for breakfast. Literally, if you want a sausage - pay a fiver. Additional charges to use a swimming pool. No all the amenities were working in the spa."Lovely view" of the roof and nice sounds of vent system from outside "the standard" room which looks more like a closet or a store cupboard. No bath robes, no air conditioning. Staff did make an effort, fair on them. If I had had all information provided on booking I would have never booked.
Lots of additional charges. I phoned before going to check if the spa was available for the entire stay and I was told it was. Upon arrival i was told the time you have in the spa depends on the room you choose. A standard room is only 1 hour per night you stay. If you want extra time its £25 per person for 2 hours. The standard rooms have no aircon and are hot, we requested a fan but this did not make any difference. Full English brealfast is not included in the stay, its an additional charge, it lacked flavour and the 'famous Gloucester sausages' were just overcooked cocktail sausages. The muffin with the eggs benedict was solid i struggled to cut through it. Offers at breakfast are simple. If I had had been provided with the full information we would not have booked. The staff did handle our complaint but considering we could not sleep, did not eat breakfast and did not use the spa, they provided a 30% refund!
