Haven Hotel

When we drove up to The Haven,Sandbanks we couldn't believe how beautiful the view is. Across to the sandy beach and Old Harry Rocks. Fascinating to watch all the boats, especially the huge ferries going into Poole Harbour. Relaxing atmosphere and staff great. George was our waiter and he was polite and seemed happy in his work. Thank you The Haven for a great 2 nights.

My partner and I had a truly lovely weekend stay at The Haven Hotel in Sandbanks, Poole, Dorset, celebrating my birthday this May. The weather was perfect, and our room was comfortable, clean, and offered a wonderful balcony overlooking the harbour. I especially loved the convenience of the chain ferry right outside, making trips to the beautiful beach incredibly easy. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were great, and the sauna and steam rooms were a good size. Every member of staff we encountered was super friendly and genuinely helpful. The hotel boasts so many inviting lounge areas and outdoor seating options with direct, breathtaking sea views. While our stay was fantastic, there were a few minor areas for improvement. Service in the restaurant was notably slow; we had to remind a staff member four times about our drinks, which took 45 minutes to arrive after we were seated. Although the food was nice, the portions felt small for the price, and we ended up ordering extra to feel satisfied. The same disorganisation seemed present at breakfast, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy (despite that being the reason given for the slow service). However, the breakfast itself was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed eating it outside overlooking the sea. Overall, we can't wait to visit again! Next time, we're hoping to upgrade to a bigger sea view room and extend our stay for a few more nights.

We are currently staying here and no one working actually cares about our issues or their poor service . 1. Young staff either uni and can’t be bothered . Side eyes and no offer of toddler chairs or anything to check meal is ok - even to smile is a step too far for them . 2. I’m vegetarian- veggie mezze meant to have hummus had none and was so pricey , and vegetable from a jar no joke . 3. Food left out for ages covered in wasps we brought it inside ourselves just so everyone else wasn’t stung or had their lunch ruined 4. First day used indoor pool daughter cut her finger as side tiles all cracked, gaps poor grouting around indoor pool edge 5. Never eaten dinner or lunch here again as such poor quality of food , service and the price is expensive for what you get 6. I’ve had no toilet roll replaced for a few days so bought my own from Tesco express joke for a 4 star hotel . It’s unclear how they service rooms sometimes bin emptied other times not . Beds are done that’s about it. 7. Our toilet doesn’t flush properly takes 5 goes but the seat slams down a lot it’s heavy - soft close sears are not expensive 8. Bunk beds - not properly screwed in - border line unsafe we used Alan keys to make it more secure . In the end one sleeps on bottom and other on sofa as no way risking the top bunk . Shame as specifically asked for an inter connecting room . 9. Breakfast is low quality we keep it quick and basic , frozen we saw the delivery truck - also decent coffee mugs and clean the machine please - bread is stale and food not that warm . 10. It’s not packed or mega busy so not sure what their issue is with communication and management and poor quality Needs renovating in so many areas as just because of the view they think they can get away with charging these ridiculous prices . It’s a great location but is seriously run down Sort of like a dated elderly care home -I wouldn’t come back here to this hotel again but glad to have seen Dorset and use it as a base.
