Had a very nice experience staying in Hong Cheng Hotel (yi de lu), about 10 minutes walk to metro. Hotel was nice, comfortable and clean. Receptionist was nice, helpful and can speak english. Bed was okay, bathroom was clean and water heater works well
The location and the room were good. They were clean with hot showers and standard amenities, such as toothbrushes, combs, and slippers. I booked through Agoda and had no issues checking in. However I did not realize it would be difficult to communicate with the reception - I speak English and Cantonese. The reception only spoke Mandarin. I was a bit surprised considering it was Guangzhou but I had to use a translator app to communicate.
The hotel really hard to find for the first time because the gps on china not reliable. Location a little to far from metro The bed on the room really hard and some a little to old building, there is a little leaking from the shower.
