We stayed in one of the holiday cottages at the end of October 2013. Absolutely fantastic place. Views were lovely - a really peaceful place to stay. The cottages are fitted to a very very high standard - almost nothing had been spared in equipping the cottages. Beds were really comfortable (and HUGE). Place spotlessly clean. Owner always friendly. They look quite ordinary from the outside (except that that are very well maintained outside) but they are truly wonderful inside. Only two small issues (which some won't mind): (i) Wi-Fi internet connectivity is pretty hopeless, and mobile reception is poor (certainly for the Three network). (ii) Lighting in the sitting room was good, but not really good enough to read by if you are not a youngster and need bright light to read. I know the owner is looking into improving Wi-Fi access, but if you want a break from it all, then this won't matter ! I also believe the owner is aware of the light reading problem, and may supply a reading lamp in the future. All of the cottages were designed to allow disabled people to stay, so when we get really old, we know one place that is perfectly equipped for our needs (but we hope that won't be for many many years!) Thoroughly recommend staying there - we most certainly will be booking up there again in 2014 We've also stayed in the main house and this is beautifully furnished to a very high standard too. It is whilst staying in the main house one night that we enquired about the cottages and we were really impressed so decided to book a holiday in one. It is one thing looking at a place for a few minutes, and the reality is often quite different thing when actually staying there. Our expectations were exceeded ! This is probably the best place we have every stayed in, and is a real gem. I only hope that by writing this review that it won't mean it becomes booked up fully at the time when we want to stay there again!
Great place to stay, Mrs. Fraser will make you feel welcome and serves a lovely breakfast.
Very clean and disabled friendly, quiet, slightly remote , gated entrance, all facilities. TV , DVD player. Nice patio area. Nicely furnished. Good selection of utensils , cutlery , and dishes. Only drawback from my point of view , being a six foot person I found the bed a little short , and the duvet was a bit narrow kept uncovering me when I turned. Missed having internet also. Having said that I would recommend it as a good place to spend on holiday.
