Heidelberg Marriott Hotel

Great location on the river and walking distance to many restaurants. By American standards the rooms are small and dated, but it's great to have air conditioning and the staff are always so helpful and kind every time I'm here. The front desk and restaurant staff are really incredible here. This isn't necessarily a hotel I would choose for a vacatin but it's excellent for a business trip.

My husband and I had a great stay at this Marriott. I’ve read some of the comments about the rooms and decor and will say it doesn’t look like other Marriotts because no doubt they bought and rebranded it. That said, we found it clean, comfortable and on par with other hotels in Heidelberg. The pool/gym area are set up nicely with lockers, towels, and showers. It was an easy walk from the train station and we enjoyed walking along the river to the castle and old town. Best of all, the staff members were outstanding, from the front desk to the restaurant. We had a delicious breakfast and one of the best dinners of our entire trip in the restaurant. Special shout out to Nazar who waited on us at dinner and went above and beyond. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

The location and views of the River are beautiful. The room decor and furnishings are very dated. This hotel definitely needs a remodeling to make it more in line with newer hotels. My biggest complain? As a weary traveler a hot shower to freshen up is paramount. I woke up with ice cold water. I messaged the hotel and they said they were aware with no estimate on a fix. A few hours later (after delaying my journey) I gave up and took a quick, cold shower. I mentioned my disappointment at check out with no amends made. It’s as though they did not care at all. Most business will try to make some sort of gesture of goodwill, but not this property. I would not recommend.
