Hemingways Retreat Kigali

The rooms are lovely and spacious. The bathroom is quite large, we had a tub, indoor shower and outdoor shower. We also had a private patio at the back and another table with chairs out front. There is a pool and a workout room as well as massages. There are two restaurants, a Fusion restaurant where we had breakfast and a Modern African restaurant where we are for dinner. Per Google maps, the Modern African restaurant is associated with The Heaven Boutique Hotel but it seems like The Retreat by Heaven and Heaven Boutique Hotel are probably under the same management. The food at both places was great.

We spent a weekend Staycation at the Retreat and everything was spectacular. The service was top notch and the rooms were fantastic. The private pools were delightful and the amenities were unparalleled. My wife and I shared one suite while our children were in the room next door. They had so much fun we couldn't get them to bed. We also had dinner at Fusion, and were delighted. I had the only duck I can find on a menu in Rwanda, and it did not disappoint. Additionally my wife ordered a cocktail and the bartender personally discussed with her the gin options and what goes best with tonic :). The breakfast buffet was also top notch. I would recommend the Retreat to anyone coming to Kigali or even if you live here and want to get away for the weekend.

If there was ever a hotel listed under the definition of hospitality, it would be The Retreat. Each member of their team welcomes you with such care and enthusiasm. Our children constantly ask when we can go back and see their friends at The Retreat — that’s how special they make them feel! Honorine’s exceptional love and care for our family has made The Retreat feel like home and a place we look forward to visiting again and again, as the Lord wills. If you are considering taking your family to The Retreat, you will not be disappointed.
