My initial impression of this hotel was a bit quirky, with big animated avatars behind the front desk. However, I found it to be a very functional, modern hotel with high-tech amenities, like an LG Steam cleaner (not a washing machine, but great for quickly refreshing your clothes), "AI" air conditioning, and a very smart TV in the room. The location is great as it's right next to the busy shopping district of Tenmonkan. It's not very close to either the central train station or the port, but I found both to be within reasonable walking distance. As there are plenty of interesting bars and shops nearby, you really don't have to walk very far. The top floor has a guest-only bathhouse with a sauna, free and open until midnight, a great alternative to showering in your room. I strongly recommend it. In summary, I very much enjoyed my stay here and I think it's a great choice for visiting Kagoshima.

I find no issues with this hotel. It was a really great stay at a cost effective price. Room was on the smaller side, but it was hi tech, all amenities provided, and very comfortable. They even provided a clothes cleaning machine in every room. Hotel has an onsen bath. I don't think it's natural though, but works all the same. Located right in the middle of the Kagoshima city centre, so it's walking distance to most things. Next to the hotel is an automated parking lot for guests who drive.

Unconventional check in - An electronic samurai oversees you fiddle with the computer and passport scanner. There is a staff member to call on if you get stuck. The rooms are clean, and mine were kept tidy on a daily basis. The location was perfect for shopping, walking to the central station, ferry to the Island trail etc. For those who come in on flights - use the airport shuttle service - it stops very close to the hotel - do not waste precious money on a taxi - just get off at the Temmonken stop - when you return to the airport - you get back onto the bus at the same stop - its a round trip. Very reasonable option. All communication with the hotel was replied promptly and they were very helpful. I would unreservedly suggest you book this hotel (I used booking.com) - The breakfast that comes with the room is served in the 1st floor restaurant and the staff are very kind. Being unable to speak Japanese they took trouble to help me with the menu and used their phones to translate when I got stuck. The breakfast menu is Japanese set meals and not a continental buffet as many restaurants serve. I do not know if there is a vegan option - but having said that - being Vegan in Japan is not easy!
