This hotel is an excellent location for visitors to Jerusalem. It is a nice clean hotel.. The staff is considerate. There is a small pool, gym and spa that we enjoy. Other facilities include a bar in the lobby. The hotel is in walking distance from major entertainment spots and tourist attractions, like Zion Square, the Old City, Jaffa Road, and several new museums. Yoel Moshe Solomon Street is a quaint area right out the door, with the Music Center and multiple very nice upscale restaurants.
The Herbert Samuel Hotel in Jerusalem is in an unbeatable location, right in the heart of the city. It’s within walking distance of many of Jerusalem’s most famous sites, fantastic restaurants, and lively markets, making it an ideal base for exploring. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with elegant common areas and a welcoming atmosphere. The management is attentive and clearly takes pride in ensuring guests have a comfortable stay—any request we had was handled promptly and with care. That said, while the hotel remains a lovely place to stay, some of the rooms and furnishings are beginning to show their age. It’s nothing that takes away from the overall experience, but a refresh in certain areas would go a long way in maintaining the high standard the hotel is known for. Overall, if you’re looking for a well-run hotel in a prime location with great service, the Herbert Samuel is a solid choice. A little updating would make it truly exceptional.
Solid good hotel, can't go wrong. It's not as perfect as it thinks it is (but hotels rarely are). The rooms are small (but it's Jerusalem, so that's par for the course). You have to pay for parking offsite for which they give you a discount (but its a very small discount). They have a Nespresso machine in the rooms (but they save money with off brand capsules which is just weird). The breakfast is absolutely decent (but there is no decaf coffee, except for instant, which is an odd oversight). The hotel is relatively new (but the carpeting in the hallway looks 100 years old... maybe that's by design?) The rooms are clean (except for the little bit mold around the shower, but you can tell they are trying to keep it really clean). The beds are ok (but as comfortable as you would want for this level of hotel). There is a pool (but it's tiny and hard to say that it counts for much). There is a sauna and steam room which are decent (but no hot tub). (Maybe turn the pool into a hot tub? It's the right size. Just a thought.) The location is outstanding, absolute best. Bottom line: it's a solid good hotel (I would stay again!), just not as great as the brand wants you to believe... so don't overpay. :)
