Herdade do Barrocal de Baixo

This is an absolutely amazing place to be. The location is great: tranquil and wonderful views. And there is tennis, paddel and bikes. The food is fantastic: large breakfast with everything you would want and the lunch and dinners was just wonderful. The people: Chef Daniel and the rest of the team are just absolutely amazing and make everything happen; you want to have dinner outside in april: they set up fireplaces on a terrace protected from the rain. I hope to come back. Because this is a place I will remember.

Amazing place! Calm, relaxing and great service. We went there just after Easter (Thursday - Sunday), family of 4 (kids ages 6 & 9) and it was just perfect for us. We stayed at the two bedroom apartment with a lovely outdoor space. Breakfasts were served to the room in a picnic basket at whatever time you requested. You can get warm breakfast delivered too (we had eggs). There was so much food that we made lunch of it as well. We enjoyed all the swimming pools, my daughter was going to see and feed donkeys a few times during the day, we went on the kayaks which was great (lake is a short walk from the hotel), we went on bikes (we had ours but you can rent there) and we played tennis. We visited the local zoo (recommend!) and area which is so beautiful. Amazing service, thank you! Ps. Yes, internet is not great but sometimes it's a good thing 😉

Awful internet service, don't plan to have any work done during your stay. Breakfast could only be served at 9 and the pool limitations (due to covid) were poorly communicated when checking in. The rooms were spacious and the house was fully equipped. The pool area is also nice. Beware of mosquitoes :)
