The hotel is well located, at the end of the main boulevard in Lisbon. It gives off a luxurious feeling and the facilities are nice. The bar area is cozy and we used it a lot, as I was staying at the hotel with a big group. The room was very nice but the bed was terrible; hard as stone. A friend found her bed to be uncomfortable too and was shown 3 other rooms but the beds were all similar. The room is nicely sound proofed and we hardly could hear doors closing, as is so often a real problem in hotels. The selection at the morning buffet is quite nice but the scrambled eggs were never good. Always watery and tasteless. We had a grand, group dinner at the hotel and it was terrible. The meat was hard and dry. The group were all of the same view. Overall the quality of food in the restaurants we visited was not that great actually. The standard in Icelandic restaurants is very high so I might be spoiled. But that dinner at the hotel was really bad and I don't recommend eating there. Staff at the hotel is nice, friendly and helpful. I didn't know the hotel didn't have a swimming pool so that was a disappointment. The garden behind the hotel is not as charming as it could be. Concrete and couches. It definitely needs more green things. All in all I was happy with my stay and can recommend the hotel to others.
We stayed there for two nights. The staff at the checkin was great especially the man who helped us store our lugages while waiting for our room to be ready (we arrived early). The room was clean and we didn't miss anything. The only reason I give 4 stars out of 5 is that the cleaning ladies entered our room twice (probably to try to change something) while we were napping in the afternoon and even though we put the do not disturb sign.
Very central hotel, beautiful location and close to many city landmarks. And expensive unless you book really early. Very nice and spacious lobby. Rooms however, are very small and cleaning is not great. The staff at the reception and the bellboys are super friendly !
