Hidden Valley Forest Retreat

We loved the Stone Stable Cottage, and although close to the residents' house, it felt both quiet and private. Everything was clean and we had all the amenities we needed. The outdoor spa bath was the highlight, and the fireplace was lovely and kept the whole place toasty. When an issue presented itself, we contacted the owner and he was very helpful and respectful. Would stay here again, but would also love to try the other retreat options on site in the future.

Stayed 2 nights at the Deepwater Retreat. Absolutely phenomenal experience. Completely clean and well supplied house. The entire area is utterly silent bar the sounds of the forest. Sensor lights greet you as you walk along a wooden walkway between the outside spa area and the house. The house is beautifully modern whilst still retaining old touches such as a fireplace. Lights are exceptional and most can be dimmed. Heater was exceptional and worked perfectly. Shower and bathroom was modern, clean and extremely well equipped with soaps, gels, towels, robes and mats. All windows were clean and beautifully showcased the gorgeous forest around. Kitchen area was well stocked with everything including paper towel and milk. Only small thing was there was no socket in the kitchen for the kettle and coffee machine; adapter required. Outside spa and barbeque area was sublime. The property has infinite recycled hot water and it made have a spa at night the most amazing experience. Having a steamy bath accompanying the stars in the sky was such a surreal experience. The grill/BBQ worked exceptionally to perfectly and evenly heat up a frozen pizza for dinner. The private lake was something out of a magazine. The long wooden boardwalk skirting the outside of the lake all the way to the private island was simply amazing. The crystal clear reflections off the lake were magical. So quiet whilst surrounded by beautiful nature. You can see sheep from a neighbouring property which is too cute. The drive to the property also goes past farms with lots of sheep and animals which again is adorable. Hidden Valley Forest Retreat is immaculately maintained and looked after and you get a real sense of luxury whilst staying here. Quite simply the most amazing holiday I've ever had and I don't think anything could top it. Sublime.

For our Ruby (40th) wedding anniversary, I found this place which had to tick a lot of personal boxes. Secluded, private, adults only and amongst the trees. Hidden Valley ticked them all. What a beautiful place, outdoor hot tub, private jetty and even a bird watching or just immersive bush area to relax and enjoy. The Deepwater Retreat is stunning. One building split into 3 living areas, large floor to ceiling windows with magnificent views regardless of the time of day. You can bring your own food and drink, but prepared for a small bar fridge, or eat out. The choices are many. The personal welcome note, gorgeous flower arrangement and chocolates were a lovely addition. The only suggestion I have is replace the frying pan (everything stuck due to a lot of use 😊 and we sharpened the knives) as we preferred to eat most of our meals in our beautiful setting. 5 ⭐️ without a doubt.
