Wonderful experience! Clean and comfortable and perfectly close to everything you’ll love about SBCA! Would highly recommend for a romantic getaway, & solo travelers! Loved that our stay included free off street and secure parking, and breakfast!

Just stayed there and had an amazing experience. Homemade breakfast every morning was fantastic, room was clean and neat, everyone even the owners were very nice and welcoming. Location was perfect as it was close to everything. Only downfall was very limited/tight parking but not sure how that could be improved. Will stay here again on our next Santa Barbara trip.

The Hideaway will NEVER BE A FOUR STAR HOTEL. The common lobby space is pleasant and the staff member William is nice and welcoming. My room was over the housekeeping area. The access was all the way at the dark, back of the property, past the shrink-wrapped pallet of Cotton/Poly blend sheets. My room was dingy and smelled a little like sewer gas. The toilet seat was loose, the toilet paper holder fell off on first use. The sprayer in the shower was not attached correctly. The mini-fridge was making a loud noise. The lamps were not plugged in. All of the furnishings were cheaply made pieces you would find at a run down Holiday Inn. There was trash on the floor. The bathmat was dirty. The entire room needed a good cleaning, was very dusty and oddly, there was an envelope asking for tips for housekeeping. The "balcony" for my room was a shared stair landing. Each morning I was woken by the people in adjacent rooms and the housekeeping staff below because the walls are paper thin and there is zero insulation. Several of the windows were stuck and not working properly. The parking area was a nightmare. The breakfast service sounds nice, but one staff member trying to make eggs for a dozen people and do everything else, does not work. The cream for the coffee was curdled. Housekeeping started peering into my windows at 8 am despite having a do not disturb on the door. If I had not prepaid, I would have walked out on arrival. I didn't feel like arguing so I stayed two days and will NEVER be back again. The location is terrible. The cost is insane for what you get. Stay at any of the two star properties in town. They may not photograph as well, but will certainly be in better locations and at the very least, you will get what you pay for.
