Hilton Barra Rio De Janeiro

This hotel is everything of what you would expect a Hilton to be. Great value, poor location as you would need to Didi/Uber to Copacabana Beach. Amazing breakfast buffet with fresh fruit JUICER! The gym and rooftop pool with hot tub was very good as well. The air quality in the area was rancid for one of the days of our stay.

The Hilton Hilton in Barra has quite a distance from centre but the proximity is great to the beaches and Barra Shopping areas. The room is well maintained but not at its top notch condition especially the bathroom glasses in the shower. The front desk, Mr. Alexandre made me feel welcomed and offered me a compliment chocolate made in Brazil. The pool is the main attraction of the hotel but the executive lounge was not monitored and serviced at all.

The hotel itself was fine. The housekeeping and general staff were kind. However, I booked my vacation in advance and prepaid. When we got to the hotel, they attempted to charge my personal card for the rooms. This had to be refunded, as I already paid for the rooms. They then charged my card a second time (because my card was on file from the first attempt) as we were checking out. I had to spend an extra 30 minutes getting this resolved on check out, because as stated before, my rooms were prepaid. Then, after getting back home, I was charged a third time for the same exact bill. This was without notice and a week after my vacation. In the course of a week, I’ve made multiple calls and emails and I've been transferred countless times with little to no progress being made. While the hotel in general is fine, the hours spent trying to not get re-charged hundreds of dollars isn’t worth it to me. I’d much rather stay somewhere else and waste less of my time.
