I only stayed one night at this hotel as my final destination in terms of lodging was a local B&B in the same area. Anyway, I was impressed by this Resort Hotel. It is very big in terms of width, not height. The lobby itself is also wide and splendid to look at, with many spots to just sit and relax. The rooms itself are big in size, clean and modern. The whole hotel is very clean and elegant to walk through. But most importantly the views from them are amazing over the Lake area and/or the the Canshang mountain range. As fitting for a Resort this size that caters to domestic and international travelers, all the Front Desk personnel spoke fairly good English although apparently no one else in the Hotel. But that's okay, it's China and they can do everything they see fit. Anyway, there is also a big terrace where you can sit for hours enjoying the relaxed Dali atmosphere overlooking the Lake, order something to drink if you want or even bring your own drinks and food, something that surprised me but that apparently is pretty normal from what I saw around me. The customer service was impeccable everywhere in the hotel. I invited my local friend to dinner at the excellent Chinese restaurant on premises (they also have a separate Western style restaurant on a different floor) and paid only $25 for everything. All in all, I would come back to this Hotel, especially considering the fact that I paid much less for 1 night than at any comparable hotel worldwide.
I feel imperative to write a review about the beauty of this property. The landscape is lush and green with a lot of trees the moment you reach the drop off porch. An extremely beautiful hotel would not be complete without top notch service. The greetings with my name on the TV screen from the GM is a warm gesture and makes my day. Perfect stay.
It's a beautiful building with a sublime view. On site Chinese restaurant was decent too. But the swimming pool requires you to wear a cap and they don't provide caps. Hilton Xian doesn't have this requirement.
