Although the hotel was undergoing renovations during my stay, we didn’t notice it at all from our room or in the restaurant. I absolutely loved the location — right by the canal and very close to the old city. It was easy to walk to several parks, attractions, and a wide variety of restaurants. The service at the restaurant, both at breakfast and dinner, was impeccable. A great value for a vacation in Dublin!
€200 per night with major redevelopment work going on - noise, dust, slippery floors, diggers and blokes carrying 10 metre long sewage pipes through the car park. Drilling starts before 08:00 and continues until 17:00/18:00. And some reviewers claim they didn’t notice any of this! 🤣 The cheapest possible quality toilet paper in the bathroom; tv remote control not working; the room door sticks and has to be slammed shut and shoulder barged open; one teabag, one sachet of coffee and enough milk for one drink between two. Power sockets by the bed didn’t work at all. *This is NOT hospitality.* Shameful to charge full price under these circumstances. Asked for 90 minute late checkout as a diamond member but was only allowed 60 minutes. In the end we checked out on time because of the noise and general unwelcoming environment. Separately, I was assured at check in that reception was taking only a deposit and I could pay with my preferred card upon checkout - and upon checkout I was informed that my card had already been fully charged. The second consecutive time this has happened at Hilton hotels. Yeah there was a genuine offer to refund and recharge but it shouldn’t have happened. Wouldn’t stay here again and losing patience with the entire brand.
I am so incredibly disappointed that I paid full price to stay in a room that I was basically unable to use after 8:30 AM. I see that some have posted that the construction noises did not bother them: that was not the case for me. They are still filling the rooms directly above the construction which starts (promptly!) at 8:30 am every morning and my husband and I were unlucky enough to get assigned to that side of the building. If you are hoping to sleep in or even be in your room after 8:30 AM I would highly recommend staying elsewhere. I've included videos but I don’t think the mic fully captures how ridiculously loud it was. The hotel/staff must be aware of this on some level because we didn't get the typical, "how was your stay?" as we were checking out or the typical email asking us to rate our stay. I'm honestly shocked they're even allowed to rent out the rooms directly above the construction zone. Unrelated to the construction, the seal on our shower was broken so it flooded the bathroom the first time we used it and the toilet seat was broken. Someone from maintenance did come to fix the toilet (appreciated) but how no one noticed that the seat was practically hanging off the bowl before we checked in, I'm not sure. No one ever came out to fix the shower. Water pressure in the rain shower was very bad so we ended up just using the handheld faucet. Couple pros is it's very central, right next to a metro station, and has rental bikes right out front. Not really enough to even anything out though, I'll probably stick to Hyatts going forward.
