Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina

CONS: First room and hallway were disgusting, and the A/C was not working. Getting to the room was a huge pain in itself, and the exterior door to actually get to our hallway was not functional, so we had to go all the way around. There was hair everywhere, including our balcony and the room smelled like cat urine and mildew. There was also a shelf falling off the wall. In our new room, the TV had to be plugged/unplugged for proper functionality, and the lightbulbs were flickering. Parking on the property was extremely overpriced, and unfortunately, there were kids running and screaming in the halls at night and other guests yelling at them to stop; not a very restful night's sleep. PROS: Kaitlin assisted us with moving rooms. She was quick to accommodate us and was very understanding and empathetic. She was extremely professional, friendly, and helpful and even gave us two "Make it Right" cards; she was truly outstanding. While our new room didn't have the best view (or the one we paid for), it was much more clean, cool and comfortable! Damian at the Olive & Sea Restaurant was equally as great. Wonderful, accommodating, friendly and professional service from him all around, and the food was also fantastic! Everyone at valet was also extremely friendly, helpful and even funny! The location was great and convenient to the airport, and the grounds were overall more well-kept than the rooms seemed to be.

Don’t waste your hard earned money! For the price paid, the room is disgusting. If you do book yourself a room specifically tell them do not put you in the villas. Old and gross. Very small. Pubic hairs in the bathroom. We did go to the desk and he said he is sending housekeeping up. And giving $50 to spend at the hotel. Which more than likely will not happen as there really isn’t anything to do here. It would have made more sense to give us a discount on the room or an entirely different room. I suppose this falls a bit on us for not reading the reviews before booking. Because they tell a lot. Pretty much all of the same complaints we have. Rooms smell musty. Not super clean. And VERY small for the money paid.

It was truly the worst experience. It was absolutely not worth the over $400 I paid for one night. I have always had excellent experiences at Hilton hotels in the past, which is why I was particularly shocked by the numerous issues I encountered during this visit. At check-in, we were told it would be appreciated if we could switch from a two bed to a one bed room. Out of goodwill, I agreed to this request. However, the room I was given was completely unacceptable — the bathroom door was broken, and the toilet did not flush at all. When I reported these problems to the front desk, not only did they not answer the phone for a while, I was merely handed a plunger and told to fix the toilet myself. Not only is this an entirely inappropriate response, but the plunger did not even fit the toilet properly and was completely ineffective. This experience was deeply frustrating and upsetting. I never expected such poor service and lack of accountability from a Hilton hotel. I hope you will take this complaint seriously and investigate how such a situation was allowed to occur. This is simply unacceptable and cannot be overlooked.
