Very Good hotel, around 15 minutes drive to the center of the city. Plenty of parking was available, rooms were big and modern, service was great, want to give a heads up to the lady from Dominican Republic at the front desk, she gave us a lot of info, was very kind and patient. The only downside was the breaks fast that I felt was plain, not much selection to choose. And some offering were available from the kitchen but were never offered by the staff. Besides this I recommend the hotel.
Unfortunately, our stay at Hilton Garden Inn Bologna fell far below the standards one would expect from a Hilton-branded property. To briefly summarize the key issues: • Expired Milk in the Room: The milk provided in the room was expired. My wife unknowingly used it to make coffee, and after just a couple of sips, I ended up with stomach pain that lasted the entire day. We had to visit a pharmacy to get medication. • Mold in the Minibar: Our friends opened their minibar fridge only to find it full of mold — completely unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one under the Hilton name. • Poor In-Room Beverage Selection: The tea selection consisted of only English Breakfast and Earl Grey. No herbal or fruit options were available, which seems like a basic oversight. • Lack of Manager Response: We reported these issues to the front desk and were told the manager wasn’t available because it was Sunday. We were promised follow-up the next day. It has now been more than three days, and we’ve received no response, no apology — just complete silence from the management team. To make matters worse: • One evening, we attempted to dine at the hotel restaurant. A staff member named Constantin B. stopped us at the entrance, saying he couldn’t seat us because the restaurant was full and he was working alone. He later returned and, in a condescending tone, asked how many we were and “which of us would be eating,” despite the fact we had already said there were four of us — all planning to dine. This behavior was both unprofessional and insulting. As for the manager, Emanuele Condo, he had two full days to address our very serious complaints and chose to do nothing. At check-out, we were told he was “in the office behind reception,” but he refused to come out and speak to us — actively avoiding all interaction. This is not leadership. This is avoidance and a complete failure to take responsibility. The only positive part of our experience was the bartender, Davide. Friendly, kind, and clearly passionate about his job, he was the one bright spot during our stay. Davide deserves recognition — his professionalism is the only reason this hotel deserves any stars at all. All in all, this was a frustrating, disappointing, and borderline dangerous experience due to expired food and an alarming lack of accountability. The staff is unprepared, the management is absent, and guest well-being seems to be an afterthought.
Unfortunately, our stay at Hilton Garden Inn Bologna North did not meet expectations. The hotel has potential, but there are some serious issues that need urgent attention. Breakfast was average in terms of selection, but quality was disappointing. We found moldy bread in the basket, which is unacceptable and raises concerns about food freshness and oversight. The biggest issue was the presence of ants in the room. We reported the problem in the morning, but by the time we returned in the evening, nothing had been done – the ants were still there. Additionally, linden tree flowers from outside were scattered everywhere and easily brought into the room, suggesting that cleaning had not been properly done. We had to change rooms three times before finally finding one without these issues. We are thankful, however, to the Spanish - lady at reception, who was very helpful, arranged an upgrade, and made sure we were eventually placed in a clean and comfortable room. Despite this, the overall experience was disappointing, mainly due to cleanliness concerns and the lack of a prompt response to the problems we reported.
