Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma

We loved the location of this hotel. It’s just a short ride from Kyoto Station, which made it easy to get around. There are convenience stores and excellent pizza places nearby. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re super clean, comfortable. Given the blazing hot weather, we were sweating a lot and was great that hotel has a laundromat. Breakfast was great. The buffet had plenty of variety, with something for everyone. Tatter totes were most amazing compared to anywhere else I had. Breakfast staff were very helpful and nice. Folk at the reception were fantastic. Every interaction felt warm and genuine. They went out of their way to be helpful, which made my stay even more memorable. Special mention for Harini on check in. We arrived very late and tired after long flight and train journey, but she made us feel relaxed and right at home with very smooth check in.

Rooms are quite spacious, and the bathroom facilities are excellent. We appreciate the on-site coin laundry with the ability to view how busy the machines are. Subway stops are close, about 3 minutes in either direction. Lots of good food nearby as well. The lobby has a very heavy perfumed scent, which can be off putting to some. The staff is always happy to hold your luggage, so you can make the most of your time without lugging your suitcases around.

Great location and everyone is friendly. They have a restaurant inside and the food is good. They also have a coin laundry which is convenient but limited. You can see from the TV which washers are occupied and which are free. It takes 2 hours to do a load because it washes and drys the clothes. You don’t need detergent just coins which you can get there. They also have a nice gym. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
