The Hilton Garden Inn Venice is a very nice hotel with friendly, welcoming staff. One of the highlights of our stay was sitting at the bar and watching the F1 race with the staff. They were all fantastic and kept the drinks flowing, making it a really fun and relaxed experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and the AC worked great, which made for a pleasant stay. The breakfast was solid, and the restaurant staff were kind and attentive. The main downside for us was the pool hours. We got back from a long day exploring and went to take a dip around 8 PM (while it was still light out), only to find out the pool had closed at 7. We were really looking forward to it, so that was a bit disappointing. Also, while the hotel does offer a shuttle to the airport, unfortunately it wasn’t running on the day we needed it as it was out for maintenance. Lastly, the location isn’t walkable, so you'll need to plan transportation if you're hoping to explore outside the hotel. Overall, still a great place to stay with exceptional service, just be sure to plan around the amenities and location.
We stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, our experience was far from ideal. Starting with cleanliness: there was visible dirt, possibly mold, around the bathtub, and the toilet brush was extremely dirty and made of some strange rubber material. After we requested a light cleaning of the room, I noticed that the tea cups weren’t replaced but simply rinsed under water — there were still tea stains and streaks inside, which was unpleasant and unhygienic. In addition, the electric kettle in our room had a broken lid, which made it inconvenient and even unsafe to use. Again, not what you would expect from a 4-star hotel. Breakfast was another disappointment. Every morning the same limited options: roasted potatoes, boiled eggs, omelet, and a juice that tasted like powder mix. It felt like the chef made no effort to rotate or vary the menu. On the very first day, I found a long dark hair in the vegetable omelet — absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. We paid €20 per person for breakfast, which is quite overpriced for such limited and repetitive options. Another downside is that sauna access is not included — guests must pay €15 per person. For a 4-star hotel, this seems unreasonable, especially considering the already high room rates. That being said, the sauna itself was clean and well maintained. On a positive note, the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming — probably the only aspect that left a good impression. Overall, this hotel did not live up to our expectations or the standards it claims to offer. I truly hope that management addresses these issues and improves both cleanliness and service.
Firstly, I'd like to mention that this Hilton gardens is located in a very sketchy part of town. On the map it appears to be in a favorable part of the city with great access to Venice. Upon arrival, you will quickly find out that there is nothing around and that Venice is very far from this hotel. The grounds are not maintained and are overgrown. There is graffiti nearby and frankly if this was in the United States it was nowhere I would actually have stayed. There are no hotels or shopping nearby. And the best mode of transportation is a bus that frankly doesn't let you off at your requested stop and rather 2 miles down. Though the rooms themselves are clean, the beds are extremely soft to the point that they hurt your back. The front desk also controls the temperature and did not turn on the AC. I made numerous requests as my room was maintained at 80° f. Nothing was done until the last day that I was checking out. It was upon getting very angry that they decided to offer me a free night stay when I was checking out and going to my cruise. The assistant manager gave me an overpriced free breakfast and inform me that the manager would call me back regarding a refund which he never did. I was later informed that the free breakfast would be my only compensation for my overheated room. I should mention that being a woman, all that I normally eat for breakfast is a yogurt, maybe a croissant and some coffee. This was hardly worth $20 in my opinion. And remember there are no other restaurants around. If you are going on a cruise like I was check your port and leave closer to the port that you are departing from in my case Trieste. The tone is very lovely and had great hotels near the port. Save your money on this hotel. It is not worth it. I am not really sure why this place has a four-star. Maybe Europeans are accustomed to this quality. I am not.
