I recently stayed at this resort and overall had a wonderful experience 🌴✨. Here’s my honest review to help other travelers: The rooms are not super fancy, but they’re definitely clean, peaceful, and have a very soft bed. If you close the window, it becomes nice and quiet inside. Also, my room had a lovely view, which made mornings even better 🌄. The staff is kind and helpful, but keep in mind — room service is only available on Tuesdays. That was a little surprising, but not a big issue for me. The location is very peaceful, and there’s a lot to do inside the resort like swimming 🏊, tennis 🎾, gym 🏋️, and more. But if you’re planning to eat outside, just know that restaurants are 30–45 minutes away. Also, if you’re Muslim, be aware there are no halal food options in the resort 🍽️🚫. The breakfast costs $55 per person, which is a bit pricey 💵— but honestly, it’s totally worth it! There are lots of options, and everything tasted great 😋. If you’re someone who can walk easily, you’ll be fine. But if you’re elderly or have walking issues, this resort might not be ideal. Parking is far — about a 10–15 minute walk from the room, which can be tiring for some 🚗➡️🏨. If you’re looking for a peaceful, activity-filled resort and you’re okay with a little walking, this place is amazing 🌺. Just plan for food ahead of time if you’re picky or need halal options.
Here’s a polished review you could use: --- I recently stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations Ocean Tower in Kona. While I really enjoyed the resort itself—the location, amenities, and overall vibe were wonderful—the service left much to be desired. The property was not at high capacity during our stay, so I was surprised that our experience from check-in to requests for a room with better views was less than impressive. It felt like the staff could have been more attentive and proactive, especially given the low occupancy. Overall, I would recommend the resort for its beauty and location, but I hope the service improves in the future.
The Hilton Grand Vacations Club is a disappointment. I can compare against a lot of other brand name resorts and vacation clubs I've stayed and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. Con: The Ocean Tower is 10 minutes from the main lobby. I initially took a tram to get to the Ocean Tower but after the initial day, I walked instead as the tram frequently broke down and it was as slow as a snail. There aren't much decent restaurants on the property. So other than one day I ate on the property, I drove out to eat. Parking fee was $49 per day and the lot was so far from the property that I had to walk 20 minutes one way each time I wanted to go out to eat and shop. There isn't anywhere to really swim on this property other than the tiny and dirty man-made area they called lagoon. It isn't really for adults and trust me, you will not want to even lay down there. Gym equipments were limited and service from the front desk - main lobby and ocean tower was not good - it's as if the front desk people do not want to deal with people and questions. The first of experiencing rude and entitled behavior, not to mention not activating the parking card after paying close to $300 pretty much made it easy to decide this isn't the property I'd come back. Pro: The room I was assigned was a long walk away from the elevator. However, it was upgraded with comfortable bed. I've read that some people complained about rooms that were not upgraded. So it's worth asking for the upgraded room.
